Alexxi Vergara (b. 2006) is a Filipino filmmaker and graphic artist known for his unorthodox, improvisational approach to storytelling. Rooted in French New Wave and Asian independent cinema, his films favor natural rhythm, emotional realism, and experimental editing over traditional scripting. He often casts amateur and non-professional actors, letting each project evolve organically around human connection and presence. His style leans toward slow cinema—quiet, observational, and elliptical in structure. After directing five short films, Vergara made his feature debut with Afternoon with Colette (2025), a meditative study of longing, chance encounters, and the gentle unraveling of the everyday.
