He reached the height of his fame when he appeared as Randy Stone in the Australian adaptation of the NBC radio serial 'Night Beat' produced by Grace Gibson Radio Productions. He also hosted "The Clock" a radio horror / supernatural anthology series that was aired in 1955-1956 and was a spin off from the USA version that ran between 1946 - 1948. A USA television version also ran from 1949 to 1952. It is thought that the show may have originated in the United Kingdom. The show made 52 episodes. They used the same scripts as the USA version, but hired Australian cast and crew, except for host of the series "The Clock". For this cast member, they hired Tennessee (USA) born Harp McQuire.
